WHERE DOES THE MONEY GO AND
WHERE DO THE GIFTS COME FROM.

Keep in mind that there are two gifts involved: One is a contribution (gift) you make to the Paraclete Foundation. The other is the gift the Foundation pays out to you or to whom ever you designate.

The Foundation uses whatever is available to it form the earnings on the money given to it. Then, there are the normal contributions  from concerned people who want us to develop programs for children of incarcerated parents and to effect changes in the rules, regulations and laws responsible for the grossly cruel and inhumane mandatory sentencing. There are two separate and distinctly different pools of funds at work. One does not guarantee the other.

We know that children of incarcerated parents are desperately in need of tutoring in their school work,  mentoring in matters of school, growing up, finding joy in broken homes, jobs, health care, consoling and just plain love and company.  It is our grandest hope that we can have a leader in each of the Congressional Districts across the country where personnel can spend full time on this desperate need. Mechanically, it is simply. Chaplains in the Prisons can provide us with names and addresses of the children and some assessment of any pressing need. We coordinate nationally the addressing of the need through local churches and welfare and special agencies for children. Our volunteers on the spot are indispensable as are the doctors, nurses, psychologists, psychiatrists, teachers and counselors involved.

This is for the kids, but society can benefit greatly if we can eliminate or mitigate the criminal cycle evident in the situation as it exists today. These kids predominately are from broken homes, financially deprived or distressed homes and families. We cannot and would not furnish them anything of a monetary nature. But, we will work with our hearts, hands and mind with all the energy we can muster to make a difference. It does not take much.

In the financial aspect of the program we take extraordinary risks in the FOREX market (throught brokers), with options, leveraging arbitrage. We take our funds once we have met the obligations of the program to distribute the gifts. No one makes us promises and we cannot make promises as to the performance of the brokers and traders. It has to be stated, that it is not easy to earn the kind of money needed but it is being done. We see opportunities in short term paycheck loans, in commercial paper where great discounts are enjoyed for people who loan money to businesses suffering short falls in cash flow.

The first thing to be considered is: How much do you want to help; then, how much can you afford; then, the donor can consider where he or she benefits morally and financially.

Thanks to the availability of computer technology the accepting of the funds, accounting for them and dispersing the gifts is made easy.
